In solidarity with movement in Iran

  Around 5 am on 20th of  Sep, the day of our closing ceremony, I was shocked about news which had been released on the internet, the death of 22 year old an Iranian Kurdish girl: Zina Giyan(Mahsa Amini) by The government  affiliated Iranian police force, in Tehran. I was not sure about the situation until I saw videos by Bahman Ghobadi, an Iranian Kurdish award winning filmmaker who asked for support and along with that so many well known artists and Iranian activists on social media and finally the former prince of Iran : Reza Pahlavi who urged  people to go on Two days strike. I could not justify holding our event in such circumstances any more. Immediately I posted on social media:

  "This event, in solidarity with people of Kurdistan and IRAN, has been cancelled in protest against the policy of the Iranian government in enforcing the compulsory wearing of the Hijab which has led to the murder of this young girl Zina Giyan.

     A wave of protests arose from  inside the Iran and all around the world with this slogan: "Woman, life, freedom". 
   Teenagers, students, artists, filmmakers, actors, poets, songwriters, singers.... all in the street and on social media, they condemned the brutality of the police affiliated with the Iranian government. After that, the regime began shooting demonstrators and arresting people. Billboards of Shahab Hosseini, the famous Iranian actor who won an Oscar for Iran, were taken from all the streets of Iran. In order to prevent the voices of the protesters from reaching the people of the world, the Internet was shut down inside Iran. All these repressions are a sign of a revolution of new generation of Iran which clearly claiming their basic rights,  human dignity and security.

The people of Iran continue their struggles inside Iran against the religious dictatorship, but unfortunately, the opposition group outside the country, which was supposed to be an alternative for the leadership of the people inside Iran, due to the differences of opinion that arose between them and by writing and signing a charter that contained, the prediction of the Islamic Republic, which is the division of Iran on the day of Iran's independence. Therefore some Iranian elites and progressive ones  of the society, people and intellectuals faced despair and disappointment. The Iranian people continue to make their demands and we are witnessing the civil rebellion of Iranian men and women against the mandatory hijab in the streets of Iran. We are stand with them and  looking forward to the day when the tree of Iran's revolution will bear fruit and we will have a prosperous and free Iran, a secular and democratic country while preserving its territorial integrity."
