The 2nd Sahar International Short Film Festival 2016

Sparkles with Contemporary Iranian Cinema

SISFF 2016 OFFICIAL SELECTION

The 2nd Sahar International Short Film Festival 2016 made a sparkling start on Saturday 23rd of April at Millgate Arts Centre in Delph.

The audience was enthralled by the quality of the contemporary Iranian cinema when they voted for the two best films.

Some members of audience believed the contemporary Iranian cinema has dark and powerful messages which contained a philosophy and psychology in an atmospheric style.

Nandini is an engineer. She believed "It is winter" had a good chance of winning and has a different dimension.

Mandana Ansari, the director of festival, told us the results of today's audience votes and other awards selected by panel of Judges will be announced at the final screening this Saturday 30th of April at Old ham Library Performance Space from 2 pm to 4 pm.

A warm welcome awaits the audience.

We appreciate our friends and audience who supported us at these days.

Christine from the local area encouraged the organizers. She believed the quality of the festival is really high and deserves to be seen by a wider audience.

One Iranian came with his friend from Stockport. He told us: “It is a great feeling to see Iranian films on the screen in an English hall, spoken in my own language.”

He added it was a great respect to the audience by asking us to vote for the best films.

Martin Gleeson, organizer of the festival, said the result of the audience vote will be counted independently.
