The 6th & 7th Sahar International Short Film Festival which aims for non - commercial purposes will be held online on 15th Dec 2020.

Since late last year we all were faced with a global crisis, that makes us more than ever to feel lonely. To experience horror and fear of death, because of catching that unknown illness. We miss visiting each other, talking closely together, greeting and shaking our hands, embracing and kissing our faces .... all relationship that was part of normal life with this crisis has been forbidden for us. Now we need to find another way to bond with each other firmly and appreciate internet and social communication, which make us still able to visit each other even from far distance. From behind our computer monitors, or our mobile phones, we still need to attend to each other’s creative work, Film, Photography, Performance and etc... We still need to spend our time to watch each other’s art and film the world they created, to understand their point of view, to praise each other. Art is therapy which enables us to survive more than ever. Therefore, for this purpose we would like to socialize together at the same time on 15th December in the Name of Sahar International Short Film Festival 2020 to watch only Fifteen short Films from talented artists to professional Filmmakers who dedicated their life for their films. They are all from different sides of our global village, participating with our festival. Their short films carry different words which they kindly share with us. Their stories have different themes and genres. Some of them are for children and for those who still keep the inner child soul alive.
Other ones are about children and the young generation. Their challenge of life and the ways they could pass through it.

Short Films About and For Children
The Sahar international Short Film Festival is proud to host it's Sixth and Seventh Editions in 2020.
On this journey we were honored to be accompanied by young, talented and emerging art filmmakers, and provided them a platform to present their brave ideas.
Some of them with their way of story telling broke boundaries and clichés.
For 2020 we would like to focus on Young generation with theme: "Cinema about and for children and young people".
We ask the filmmakers to produce a short film about children and for children and young people, which looks at their world, and maybe returns us as an adult to our childhood Fantasy, Dreams and wishes which flew with the wind!

2020 SAHAR INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL RECOGNITION AWARDS
The 6th & 7th Edition of The Sahar International Short Film Festival 2019-2020 was held online from 15th until 20th of Dec 2020 on the Sahar Festival Website(here).
​
On 15th to 20th Dec, All The Film of The Official Selection were activated here.
​
This Festival was presented as in the years before, in two categories: Competition and Non- competition. The only criterion for these categories is the date of production.
Audiences could watch all films in both sections at Sahar Festival.
They could participate in the Competition section by selecting their favourite Film and giving a vote in the online Voting Box on this page.
The votes were counted at Sunday Noon on 20th Dec, and The Best Sahar Audience Awards of the Year2019 - 2020 were announced at this festival.
From the Festival Management team's point of view, all the films which reached the official selection of the Sahar Festival deserve to be privileged and honored.
For this year we hosted talented, emerging, and also award-winning, experienced Filmmakers.

The wait is over
The first honorable mention of Sahar International Short Film Festival 2020; is for the film: "Life in Lock down" Directed by: Eshan Harsh from India.
This one-minute short film is a prime example of innovative filmmaking, which is like a mirror; Highlights the theme of the world at the present time and also displays the circumstances in which mankind is involved.
The second honorable mention for Sahar International Short Film Festival 2020 is presented to the film: "Hegmataneh" directed by Ali Zarekar from Iran.
This film is clever blend of poetic and reflection of historical imagery which deserves this honorable recognition.
And the third honorable mention of the Festival is presented to the short animation, "This is the Way to Show the World" By: Richard Wan Kun Wah from Singapore. This short animation Given the inspirational message that related to the theme of this year's Sahar Festival: films for and about children and young people, this short animation deserves this honorable commendation.

The wait is over
Now it's time to announce the2020 Sahar Best Film awards, by audience votes
​
The Sahar 2020 International Short Film Festival is the sixth and seventh edition together. Based on the online votes of the audience and the submission date, the two awards will be announced as follows.
​
The best short film of 2019 is:
The Father of your son
Directed by Rom Burlat from the Philippines.
And The best short film of 2020 is: "Stop it!" Directed by: Sanaz Safaei from Germany.
​
Congratulations to all the filmmakers and their production teams that are recognized today.
Also, a SISFF Certificate of Participation and gratitude from the organizers of Sahar international short film festival will be sent to all the filmmakers who participated in this Festival.

On The Closing Ceremony on Sunday 20th Dec 2020 at 2:30 to 3:10 Pm London Zone time. We were honored to announce the Sahar International Short Film Festival The Best Films Awards.
​
For each year, 2019 & 2020, a Filmmaker separately in the Sahar Audience Awards.
Voting time was closed at 12 noon on Sunday 20th Dec.
At Sahar, we also announced honorable mentions to those Filmmakers who were honored.
​
The ceremony began at 2: 30 pm (London Time Zone) with Musical Artist: Mr. Amir Mohamadi for 5 minutes to play Flute (wood wind) instrument(Ney).
The ceremony continued with a short speech by Mandana Ansari and Martin Gleeson the Management Team of the Sahar International Short Film Festival 2020 in two Languages: Persian and English.
Voting results Were revealed, Winners and Honorable Mentions announced, and finally, asked the filmmakers who achieved recognition to make final speech.
